Chandani Chowk (translate in English as Moonlight square)  is a crowded and the oldest market in the Delhi area.

Jama Masjid is located in the Chandni Chowk area near the Old part of the city known as Old Delhi. 

Chandani Chowk bazaar area was built by Moghul Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th Century along with Jama Masjid and the Red Fort.

Market and Streets at Delhi's Chandni Chowk looks like total chaos but in reality, it is organized in its own way.  

This area gets super crowded and provides a fascinating look into the world of old Delhi street markets.

Jama Masjid is considered the biggest mosque in India, built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan during his rule in the 17th Century.

This Jama Mosque in Delhi is an open-air site.

This is a religious place where appropriate clothing long pants/skirt and a long sleeve shirt are required.

There are no entry fees but you have to pay INR 300 for photography per camera.

- Take the Metro Violet line (Heritage line) to Jama Masjid Station.

- From this station, you can easily walk to the famous mosque and walk around the Chandi Chowk area.

Or

- Take the Yellow Line to the Chawri Bazaar station or Chandni Chowk station (avoid peak hours) on this route.  

- From these stations walk around the shopping areas; and/ or

- Take a cycle rickshaw to the Mosque and around the Chandni Chowk area. 

You can also get there directly by walking, taxi, or rickshaw if your hotel is nearby.
