Trains at Narita Airport


Narita Airport is connected to the Tokyo area by Express, Rapid, and local commuter trains.

Two companies operate trains from Narita Airport:

1). JR East - Operates Narita Express, Rapid and Local Sobu Line trains

2). Keisei - Operates Skyliner, Skyaccess and local trains through Keisei Narita Station

JR East provides easy and direct trains to Tokyo Station, Shinagawa, Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Yokohama area.

Keisei lines need transfer to JR line in case you are going to Tokyo Station, Shinagawa, Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Yokohama area.

 

Narita Airport (NRT) to Tokyo Station (1 hour) by Narita Express Train :

Passengers from Terminal 3 can walk or take the free airport shuttle to Terminal 2

- Go down to B1 floor of Passenger Terminal 1, or 2

- Follow the signs to the Airport Railroad Station

- Go purchase tickets at the JR ticket counters/ machines located on the B1 floor, and get on the train to your destination

- Choose the JR Narita Express to Tokyo Station (no transfers) (or Shinagawa or Shinjuku or Yokohama or Shibuya Station)

Limousine Bus at Tokyo Narita Airport

Almost all areas in Tokyo are well connected by the Airport Limousine buses from Narita Airport.

The airport limousine buses are a cost-effective and comfortable way to travel from Airport to hotel.

Please check with your hotel or at the Airport for bus number, stop, and fare information to your destination.

Taxi or Private Cars at Narita Airport

TAXI cabs at Narita Airport :

Taxi cabs are easily available at airports.

There are standard and fixed-rate taxis.

At Narita Airport, Fixed rates Taxis are based on destination zones.

Fares from NRT to centra Tokyo (Shibuya, Shinjuku) usually cost somewhere around 22,500 Yen.

There are surcharges for late night / early morning and expressway tolls.

Travel Tips for Arriving Passengers at Narita Airport:

Tokyo is a huge city with many Metro subway lines which can be overwhelming for the first time traveler.

Tokyo Narita Airport Train and Bus service stop around 11:00PM every night till morning 6AM.

If your flight lands after 10PM at Narita Airport then it is a good idea to book Hotel near Narita Airport for overnight stay.

Head towards Tokyo from Narita the next morning.

If taking the Narita Express from the Airport (JR line and included in your JR rail pass)

- Please make sure that you know your destination station name and Metro line

- Have written directions to your hotel from your destination station before you land in Tokyo
